Six essential project management skills

I’ve just added ‘Project Manager’ to my CV. Well, figuratively speaking anyway.

Though I’ve not had the official job title as such, I have bought and rented houses, decided to enrol in study and planned a holiday.

If you’ve also done any of these, then congratulations! According to CIT Project Management Coordinator Ray Roche, you too are a Project Manager. Add that to your CV.

I used to think project management was a term used to make everyday work sound superior. Since starting work in the Planning and Project Support Office I’ve come to understand project management as simply evidence-based processes used to carry out everyday work projects in order to improve their chances of success.

I like this article because it uses plain English to outline six simple tips for managing a project so even a pleb like me, with no project management skills or understanding of the lingo, can understand it.

If you’re managing a project, big or small, at home or at work, see if you are following these steps. You might be surprised that you’re already doing it.
